WELCOME TO CHRIST CHURCH, SOUTH NUTFIELD.

Part of the Windmill Group Ministry with the churches of Burstow, Horne and Outwood.

Christ Church is a thriving centre of Christian life and activity. At times it's bursting at the seams!

We believe that God's love is the greatest power in the universe and reaches out to everyone. That may sometimes be hard to believe when we're bowed down by the state of the world or when hard personal times come our way. But the church exists to help us lift our heads and open our eyes to see that :

  • There are answers to life's questions.
  • There is more to life than material things.
  • There is a God who can be known and experienced in daily life and work.

The information on this website gives you some idea of what goes on in your local church. You are welcome to join us at any of the Sunday Services or other activities.

Please get in touch if you would like any further information.

History
Christ Church was built in 1888 The church is sited on the South side of King's Cross Lane opposite the junction with The Avenue approximately half a mile south of the village centre. It is sited within a small churchyard which is reasonably level. The church was designed by Edward I'Anson and built in 1888 in an Early English style and comprises a nave of five bays, chancel, an organ chamber on the south side, a tower sited at the junction of the nave and chancel on the north side and adjacent to that and parallel with the chancel, a choir vestry, (added in 1909, also by I'Anson), and a north west porch. Extensions on the south side were added in 2001 and 2005 and the spire was re-shingled in 2006.
